HCMC – On 27 November 2007, at Sheraton Hotel, ACB coordinated with Jardine Lloyd Thompson Asia (JLT) to hold a workshop on Basel II and Operational Risk Management to share international knowledge and experience on operational risk management on Capital Accord (Basel II) basis. The workshop captured the attention of managers from the State Bank, commercial joint-stock banks, foreign banks, as well as financial and insurance companies.
The workshop focuses on following topics:
- Basel II in terms of govermental management
- Practical experience on operational risk management from Standard Chartered Bank, one of ACB’s strategic partners.
- Introduction to some measures to reinforce operational risk management and utilization of insurance in operational risk management.
Basel II is an international convergence of Capital Measurement and Capital Standards regarding the strengthening of global management on finance, making good use of profit potential and risk reduction.
The workshop on Basel II and Operational Risk Management held by ACB in coordination with JLT plays an important role in sharing information and experience between Vietnam banks and foreign ones regarding operational risk management for the reinforcement of Vietnam banking development and of international integration.
