On 6 March 2008, a conference on " Restructuring Corporate Governance in Public Companies" was organized in Ho Chi Minh City by Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) in collaboration with the Saigon Times. The conference discussed the restructuring plan of ACB Corporate Governance as well as the experience in the process of restructuring corporate governance in other public companies in Vietnam.

Senior representatives from the State Bank of Vietnam, various public companies, ACB shareholders and the media have taken part in this conference. Lawyer Nguyen Ngoc Bich started the discussion with a presentation on " Restructuring corporate governance in public companies" followed by the presentation on " Transforming corporate governance in banking sector" by Mr. Le Xuan Nghia, Director General of Banking Development Strategy Department, SVB. Mr Nguyen Duc Kien, Vice Chairman of ACB Board of Directors presented on " Corporate Governance model and 2015 Vision of ACB group".

Investors and representatives from public companies have shown great interest in the conference as the opportunity for exchanging expertise and experiences in building and strengthening corporate governance in public companies.
