HCMC, June 07, 2008, Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) celebrated its 15th Anniversary and received the Government's Emulation Flag at the official ceremony organized at the Thong Nhat Palace this morning. Mr. Le Duc Thuy Member of the Communist Party Central Committee, Head of the National Financial Supervisory Committee, Mr. Tran Minh Tuan Deputy Governor of State Bank of Vietnam, Ms Nguyen Thi Hong, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee presented at the ceremony together with senior representatives from relevant organizations, media, shareholders, partners and customers of ACB.
Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank was awarded the Government's Emulation Flag for its outstanding achievements in banking business and for being the leader in 2007 patriotic emulation movement initiated by the State Bank of Vietnam.
Earlier on June 04, 2008, ACB received greeting letter from President Nguyen Minh Triet and from the Governor of State Bank of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Van Giau to congratulate ACB's staff on its 15th Anniversary.
The ceremony also included the presentation of ACB's Certificate of Appreciation to 15 loyal customers who have long been doing business with ACB for their lasting cooperation.
Later in the day, a music concert "Brighten the faith" No. 5 was organized and broadcasted live on Ho Chi Minh City television to further celebrate the 15th Anniversary. In this event, ACB presented several donations totaled up to VND 10 billion which include VND 205 million to "Sharing the heart" Fund, VND 1 billion to Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross to sponsor the heart operation program for poor children, VND 1 billion to Dak Nong Province to build 50 houses for the needy people, VND 1 billion to Nam Hong Commune, Dong Anh District, Ha Noi, VND 4 billion to Quang Chau Commune, Viet Yen District, Bac Giang Province to build up school and various scholarships for good students at the Universities with the budget of VND 2,5 billion.
With the outstanding achievements in the past 15 years ACB has established a solid foundation to growth the business, to achieve more successes in the future and to become top 3 financial groups in Vietnam./.
